Counselling Supervision with Paul Carter

Counselling Supervision with Paul Carter – I am a trained and qualified clinical supervisor, with a wealth of experience, working with trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.

What is Supervision?

Clinical Supervision is an essential aspect of therapeutic work and is defined by BACP as follows:

“A specialised form of mentoring provided for practitioners responsible for undertaking challenging work with people. Supervision is provided to ensure standards, enhance quality, advance learning, stimulate creativity, and support the sustainability and resilience of the work being undertaken.”

My Approach to Supervision

I integrate Gestalt and Person-Centred models in a relational approach, helping supervisees reflect on their work, explore client interactions, and navigate challenges effectively. It is my aim that through my support and supervision process therapists are encouraged to grow and develop professionally.

I offers both short-term and long-term therapy. For short-term clients, I employ CBT and Solution-Focused approaches, while longer-term clients benefit from Gestalt and Person-Centred techniques.
